The Gary Kelsey Sheet Music Collection primarily consists of original manuscripts and published versions of music composed by Gary Kelsey (1945-2019) as well as compositions by his Great Uncle, Carl Arvid Swanson (1887-1949). Gary Kelsey was an Eastern Illinois University 1972 graduate. The bulk of the composition dates range from the 1940s to the early 2000s. Most of Kelsey’s compositions are written for band and chorus, but also include compositions for some solo voices and instruments such as trombone and flute, with piano. The collection also includes a small amount of correspondence.
