Glenn David Williams (1926 – 2011) Born in Columbus, Ohio, Williams attended Columbus public schools, graduating in 1944, and served in the United States Navy (1944-46). After completing a college degree (1950), he was employed in the Worthington Ohio Public Schools as a teacher and then high school principal (1954-60). He completed his PhD degree at Ohio State University (1960). Williams came to Eastern Illinois University in 1960 as an assistant professor of Education. He was appointed Associate Dean of Student Academic Services in 1962, Dean of Student Academic Services in 1965, and Vice President of Student Affairs in 1970. He retired in 1992. Williams was a Fulbright professor in Sri Lanka (1969-70) and served as a consultant in Taiwan (1980), China (1983 and 1987), and Japan (1989).
